Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Gdańsk

In mid-2022, the company 2 SUN worked on the thermal modernization of the Church of St. Nicholas in Gdańsk. The scope of work for the project “Thermal Modernization of the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Gdańsk” included:
- Installation of central heating and mechanical ventilation systems,
- Connecting the newly designed central heating system to the existing boiler room.
Central Heating Installation
A mixed heating installation was completed. Radiator systems were designed for the stairwell, social room of the shop, sanctuary, and choir, while underfloor heating was installed in the main nave of the Cathedral, supplied from a separate circuit.
Ventilation Installation
The scope of work also included the installation of a mechanical ventilation system with both supply and exhaust for the nave and sanctuary. Since the building is a listed monument, the existing air heating system of the church was utilized for air distribution.
The rooms in the Cathedral are ventilated using a supply and exhaust system with cross-heat recovery, utilizing a suspended ventilation unit. The ventilation unit is equipped with an electric air heater.
